Supervised Visitation Program (SVP)
The KBYH Supervised Visitation Program (SVP) serves to provide space for families to visit in a safe and comfortable environment. Our goal is to help all families move towards their goal of permanency and reunification. We believe that visitations are vital to maintaining family relationships and fundamental to helping children maintain their cultural connections.
The primary goals of the SVP are:
- Increase the number of children and families who reunify by regularly visiting with the children
- Increase the number of families that can progress to unsupervised visits within a reasonable amount of time while assuring the safety and wellbeing of the children
- Reduce the length of time to safely reunify
- Reduce the number of children who re-enter foster care
- Maintain children’s familial relationships to strengthen meaningful connections with caring adults
